eh! vacation response has a bug...

Okay! Here's how to figure out the bug, it all depends how one activates this feature on his/her gmail account.

After clicking on Settings, if you first click on Vacation Responder ON and then type the message, there's always an error, 'You have enabled the vacation responder but you have not provided a response message.'

What would need to be done is to type the message first and then click ON (which logically makes sense as well). Now, either:

Google should consider revising the chronological order where the ON /OFF comes after the message (which makes more sense)

OR

simply, fix the bug, (which makes 'equal' sense)

STILL BETTER

Google could do both of the above (which would indeed be the best a.k.a. GMAIL!)
Thanks/R

    Dear Rohan,

Thank you for this. Question - even when I start typing first, and don't click "ON," what happens is; the moment I begin typing, the "ON" button automatically clicks itself ON, and the same error message and problems ensue. Have you discovered a workaround for this, too? Much appreciated if you could e-mail it to me as well at fadking@rogers.com. Thank you.

  2. Sure! Here's a workaround. :)

First of all, I don't know your name, eh?

Now, what you need to do is as follows:

    1) Click Settings, enter the message you want for the vacation responder (don't worry that it automatically changes to ON)!

    2) After you have entered the message, click OFF, and then save the settings.

    3) Now, again click on Settings, and click Vacation Responder ON, and here you go! Whoa!!

Take care buddy, and do mention your hobbies and interests etc.

    Cheers!!

    Rohan
